Subject: Df(2L)C144: bk2 right limit
I am currently studying the chromatin remodeler CHD1 in
Drosophila, and I was using the deficiency Df(2L)C144 for my studies. I
have determined that the right limit of breakpoint 2 for this deficiency
lies to the left of chd1.
This was shown by PCR amplification of the chd1 genomic region with DNA
extracted from flies that had Df(2L)C144 over a mutant allele with a
large deletion in chd1.
The new breakpoints for Df(2L)c144 are:
oaf << bk1 << Drp1 << l(2)23AB2 << bk2 << chd1
The deficiency does not uncover chd1.
