Text of Personal Communication
The following contains information about mRpS25A from Karen Schulze and Hugo Bellen, Baylor College of Medicine.
It was originally reported that the lethality of the mRpS25A chromosome was rescuable by a duplication covering the mRpS25 gene (Dp(1;3)DC286), suggesting that the lethality of the chromosome was due to the splice mutation in mRpS25A. Subsequent experiments indicate that mRpS25A cannot be rescued by Dp(1;3)DC286, indicating there is a lethal elsewhere on the chromosome.
