	Some Tc3 elements have longer terminal inverted repeats of 43bp rather than 27bp. Eight copies of Tc3 transposons have been detected in the D.melanogaster genome, all of which are either truncated or deleted internally. (Tu and Shao, 2002) The withdrawn annotation CG33347 corresponded to an insertion of the Tc3 transposable element. (FlyBase, 1996-)
