The density of insertions of Tni\piggyBac transgenic constructs in D. melanogaster is significantly lower in underreplicated regions of the genome (URs) compared to neighboring regions or the genomic average. Testis-specific genes have a low frequency of insertions of Tni\piggyBac transgenic constructs.
A TTAA duplicated target site is characteristic of Tni\piggyBac integrations.
