Homozygous pharate adults have defects such as loss of tarsal leg joints, shorter and fatter leg segments than normal, the loss of a discrete antennal segment 4 and a fatter arista than normal. Homozygous pupal wings are wider and shorter than normal and have regions with a loss of hair.
Homozygotes have eye defects.
