hide Detailed Description
Statement
Reference
Homozygotes show little or no embryonic lethality. The majority of the lethality occurs during early pupal and pharate adult stages. Homozygous pharate adults have malformed legs, which display a range of phenotypes, including being both short and bent or curved around the edge of the wing. The wings fail to extend as far down the body as the wings of control animals. The tibia and 2nd tarsal segment may contain bends. 14% of mutant mid-prepupae have at least one malformed leg, 27% of mutant pupae and adults have at least one malformed leg.
