hide Detailed Description
Statement
Reference
17% of homozygous and 18% of pAbp[EP310]/pAbp[k10109] spermatocytes show defects in meiosis, with the most common phenotype being detachment of the meiotic spindles from astral microtubules.
23% of pAbp[EP310]/+ ; larp[mtr-null]/+ double heterozygous spermatocytes show defects in meiosis. 16% of pAbp[EP310]/+ ; larp[S003108]/+ double heterozygous spermatocytes show defects in meiosis. The frequency of homozygous pAbp[EP310] spermatocytes that show defects in meiosis (17%) is increased by larp[mtr-null]/+ (to 31.4%) or larp[S003108]/+ (to 29.3%).
Over-expression of pAbp[EP310] reduces dendrite branching, and alters dendritic morphology in larval class IV sensory neurons (induced under the control of Scer\GAL4[Act.PU]). Total dendrite length is significantly reduced in these neurons. The rough eye phenotype observed in Fmr1[sev.PW] flies is suppressed in a pAbp[EP310]/+ background.
The density of T-bars in the boutons of pAbpEP310/Df(2R)Pcl7B mutants is the same as wild type.
The mean amplitude of miniature postsynaptic currents (mEJCs) at the neuromuscular junction is indistinguishable from wild type in pAbpEP310/Df(2R)Pcl7B flies. Evoked postsynaptic currents (eEJCs) are significantly larger than in wild-type. The number of junctional boutons per neuromuscular junction is increased compared to wild type.
