Drives expression in ring neurons R3 and R4 in the ellipsoid body, and the Malpighian tubule lower segment and ureter.

ScerGAL4^Alp4-c507 drives expression in about 33 ring neurons at 7-8 days of age.

Expression is limited to just a few cell types. In the brain, expression is found in the ring neurons of the ellipsoid body, specifically in the R3 and R4 morphological subtypes. In addition, expression is observed in the lower section and ureter of the Malpighian tubules.

Adult expression is observed in R3 ring neurons and in the subset of R4 neurons that arborize in the distal part of the ellipsoid body.
