Drives expression in ring neurons R3 and R4 in the ellipsoid body, and the Malpighian tubule lower segment and ureter.

Scer\GAL4Alp4-c507 drives expression in about 33 ring neurons at 7-8 days of age.

Expression is limited to just a few cell types. In the brain, expression is found in the ring neurons of the ellipsoid body, specifically in the R3 and R4 morphological subtypes. In addition, expression is observed in the lower section and ureter of the Malpighian tubules.

Adult expression is observed in R3 ring neurons and in the subset of R4 neurons that arborize in the distal part of the ellipsoid body.

In adult, expressed in the Malpighian tubules; expression confined to the proximal section of the main segment (the "lower tubule") and the ureter. Marks the lower tubule as a separate domain of the main segment.

Expression described as in the "lower tubule," the ureter-proximal portion of the Malpighian tubule. Not expressed in the initial or main segments of the Malpighian tubule.
