Reference
Lethality occurs from the third larval instar through to the pupal stage.
Hemizygous larvae develop smaller optic lobes than controls, while other parts of the brain show overgrowth defects. The thoracic ganglion region is disrupted. The wing discs of hemizygous larvae are convoluted and reduced in size compared to controls. The wing pouch is rotated 90[o] relative to the dorsoventral axis and the dorsal body wall region is heavily reduced in size. The haltere disc is heavily convoluted in the mutant larvae. Hemizygous larvae take at least 1 day longer to reach third larval instar compared to controls, and eventually die as third instar larvae.
