Dataset

A set of mutant stocks derived by insertional mutagenesis using the P-element construct P{lacW}; most lines have a lethal phenotype. The P{lacW} construct carries a w[+mC] mini-white visible marker, Ecol\lacZ enhancer trap sequences, and bacterial sequences that allow plasmid rescue (FBrf0049800).
Insertion lines from this collection were assessed for inclusion in the Gene Disruption Project collection.

Description
What does this section display?
This section contains items that were added to this record for each release. It currently only tracks new links between this FlyBase report and other FlyBase data classes (e.g. genes, references, stocks) or controlled vocabulary terms (e.g. GO, anatomy terms).
What does this section not display?
This section does not currently display links that were removed or gene model changes.

hide Detailed Description
Statement
Reference
Bsg[1217]/Df(2L)Exel7034 hemizygous flies are semi-lethal, with approximately 50% reaching third larval instar. Axonal targeting is not altered to a visible degree in Bsg[1217]/Df(2L)Exel7034 transheterozygotes. The proportion of very large boutons is greatly increased compared to controls. The observed increase in bouton size is associated with a concomitant reduction of both NMJ branching and bouton number, keeping the overall NMJ size close to normal.
