hide Detailed Description
Statement
Reference
spas[T32] mutant overexpression (through Scer\GAL4[ppk.PG]) leads to a dramatic reduction in both total dendritic length and branch number. Similarly, the number of branch points are reduced. spas upregulation by expression of spas[T32] results in a mild yet significant reduction in axonal growth in class IV da neurons.
Overexpression of spasT32 in the hindgut epithelium (under the control of Scer\GAL4NP2432) does not affect the laterality of this organ.
When spasT32 is driven by Scer\GAL4sca-537.4, at 23oC, mutant embryos embryos display abnormal midline crossing of the inner 1D4 bundle, and the entire ventral nerve cord (VNC) is narrowed at these crossing sites. At 29oC the VNC collapses onto the midline and discrete longitudinal bundles are no longer apparent.
