ScerGAL4Mz612 drives expression in around one uniglomerular antennal lobe projection neuron VA6 adPN. Its cell body is positioned in the anterior-dorsal part of the antennal lobe.

ScerGAL4Mz612 is extensively expressed in the larval Kenyon cells. In the larval antennal lobe, ScerGAL4Mz612 is extensively expressed in the medial glomerulus 1a, and strongly in an anteriodorsally located mushroom body calyx glomerulus designated as A4. It is weakly expressed in a small lateral calyx glomerulus designated as L8, and weakly in an antennal lobe glomerulus identified as 94b. Weak expression of ScerGAL4Mz612 is sometimes seen in a dorsally located antennal lobe glomeruli whose mediolateral position varies, but is probably calyx glomerulus L3. A further undetermined anteromedial calyx glomerulus is also weakly labelled.

In the larva, ScerGAL4Mz612 is expressed strongly in a projection neuron which innervates a medial glomerulus in the antennal lobe.
