Dataset

A set of transgenic insertion stocks derived by TE mobilization using the P-element construct P{EPg}. The P{EPg} construct carries the mini-white marker w[+mC], and Scer\UAS binding sites for the Scer\GAL4 transcriptional regulator (FBrf0128569). The GAL4-UAS system allows regulated expression of genes proximate to the site of the insertion: genes properly oriented with respect to the Scer\UAS sequences can be conditionally expressed via transgene-derived Scer\GAL4 activity.
Insertion lines from this collection were assessed for inclusion in the Gene Disruption Project collection.

Description
What does this section display?
This section contains items that were added to this record for each release. It currently only tracks new links between this FlyBase report and other FlyBase data classes (e.g. genes, references, stocks) or controlled vocabulary terms (e.g. GO, anatomy terms).
What does this section not display?
This section does not currently display links that were removed or gene model changes.

Comments concerning
location
The location specified is that of the genomic sequence nucleotide that aligns with the 5' end of the flanking sequence deposited by Staudt et al. (2005) in GenBank. The GenBank records do not specify the position of the insertion within the flanking sequence so there is ambiguity in the insertion position.

Compound action potentials can be evoked by sound in the antennal nerve of mutant flies, but the sound particle velocities required to elicit the response is increased compared to wild type. Nonlinear mechanical amplification is significantly reduced compared to wild type.
