Dataset

A set of transgenic insertion stocks derived by TE mobilization using the P-element construct P{GT1}; created and vetted by the Gene Disruption Project (GDP). The P{GT1} construct is described as a dual-tagged gene trap (FBrf0132344):it carries (1) w[+mGT1] mini-white marker, designed to confer a pigmented eye phenotype only if the construct is inserted within a host gene, and (2) a promoter-less Ser\GAL4 gene which is expressed if it is produced as a fusion with the mRNA produced by the host gene. The construct also carries a Tn\neoR selectable marker (FBrf0132344).

hide Detailed Description
Statement
Reference
Homozygous flies show no significant change in the number of sternopleural bristles compared to controls. Homozygous females show a significant reduction in the number of abdominal bristles compared to controls. Mutant flies show a normal behavioural avoidance response to benzaldehyde in an olfactory assay. Mutant males and females show a significant reduction in locomotor activity compared to controls. The average number of aggressive encounters by males competing for a limited food supply after a period of food deprivation is approximately 1.8 fold greater in neur[BG02587] males than in controls. Gross morphological defects are not seen in the α-lobes of the mushroom body or in the ellipsoid body of neur[BG02587] adults.
