Plasma membrane targeting sequence, MLCCMRRTKQVEKNDEDQKI, corresponding to the N-terminal end of the Homo sapiens Growth Associated Protein 43 (GAP43) gene (HGNC:4140). When fused to the N-terminal end of a protein of interest, this sequence results in the anchoring of the tagged protein to the inner plasma membrane though palmitoyl groups attached to a pair of Cys residues (FBrf0159691, PMID:18282482).
