Statement
Reference

In cellularizing embryos, Ecol\lacZ expression is observed, but differs from normal eve expression. Stripes 2, 3, and 7 appear normal, stripe 1 is reduced in expression, and stripes 4, 5, and 6 are undetectable. The missing stripes start to appear during gastrulation. By extended germband stage, Ecol\lacZ expression corresponds to normal 7-stripe eve pattern.
