Construct: A 'mini-white' gene constructed by deletion of the HindIII-XbaI fragment from the long 5' intron. Carried by the
Casper series of vectors.
4.15kb SpeI fragment of the w gene that carries a deletion of a large part of the first intron and the regulatory region is reduced to 300bp preceding
the transcription start site.
Minigene of the white cDNA.
Deletion of w+mC 5' flanking sequences to position -305.

Statement
Reference
Shows bright green fluorescence in both nucleus and cytoplasm. There is a long delay between zygotic expression and appearance
of fluorescence.
In third instar larva, ubiquitous expression throughout imaginal discs. Used as marker for FRT-induced mitotic clones.

Comments
|
|||
|
report comment: The Ubi::GFP fusion protein is highly fluorescent when maternally supplied, but there is a long delay between
zygotic expression and appearance of fluorescence.
