Larval expression is initally observed in four small groups of cells in the bi expressing region of dorsal mesothoracic disc, then later expanding to four quadrants adjacent to, but not overlapping, the the dorsoventral boundary. Representative image can be seen in FBrf074525, Figure 4 A-C.

The vg quadrant enhancer drives expression in the pouch region of the wing and haltere discs; expression is excluded from the dorsal/ventral and anterior/posterior compartment boundaries.

Expressed in the cells of the wing disc pouch, except those along the D/V boundary; described as "quadrant pattern." Earliest expression observed at early third instar.
