Adult expression is observed in about 60 gustatory sensilla, including and average of 4 in the prothoracic leg, 8.2 in the mesothoracic leg, 5.7 in the metathoracic leg, 9.8 in the wing margin, 15 in the labial palps and in the labral and cibarial sense organs.
Expression of Scer\GAL4[Gr22e.PD] is found in large and small neurons associated with the S-type bristles of the labellum.
Scer\GAL4[Gr22e.PD] is expressed in approximately 14 cells per labial palp, 2 cells per first leg, 8 cells per second leg and 10 cells per third leg.
Adult expression is observed in about 60 gustatory sensilla, including cells at the base of chemosensory bristles in the labial palps, in cells in the dorsal and ventral cibarial sense organs, along the tibiae and tarsi of the legs, in cells at the base of chemosensory bristles along the anterior wing margin, and in cells in third antennal segment and in the maxillary palp. Axons of Gr22e-expressing neurons project to the subesophageal gangion.
