The P{EPgy2} element contains UASp regulatory sequences at its 3' end, oriented oriented so that in the presence of a GAL4 driver, transcription from UASp is directed outwards from this end of the element. This can result in misexpression of neighbouring genomic loci when the element is inserted in the genome. P{EPgy2} is similar to the P{EPg} element, with the major difference being the inclusion of y+mDint2 (between the w+mC marker and the UASp sequences) and the removal of the plasmid rescue module.
A diagram of the P{EPgy2} element is available at the [GDP Transposons page](http://flypush.imgen.bcm.tmc.edu/pscreen/transposons.html)
