Scer\GAL4NPF.1 drives expression in NPF neurons that potentially overlap with ple positive dopaminergic neurons in the dorsolateral, basolateral and ipsilateral dorsomedial parts of the embryonic/larval protocerebrum, and with Tdc2 positive tyraminergic/octopaminergic neurons in the embryonic/larval subesophageal ganglion.
Scer\GAL4NPF.1 drives expression in some of the clock neurons, including, in males, three LNd neurons, three or four l-LNv neurons (weaker signal) and the Pdf negative s-LNV neuron. In females, Scer\GAL4NPF.1 drives expression in one less LNd and l-LNv neurons on average than males. Labelling is also detected in other cells in the central and lateral brain, including in the fan-shaped body. The expression pattern is similar to that of NPF protein, except that varicosities and axon terminals are less strongly stained with Scer\GAL4NPF.1.
Scer\GAL4NPF.1 drives expression in neurons of the dorsal and lateral protocerebrum, fan-shaped body and ellipsoid body. The expression is more widespread than the one obtained with NPF, except that neurons in the subesophageal ganglion labelled by NPF are not labelled with Scer\GAL4NPF.1.
Expression of Scer\GAL4NPF.1 is seen in three cells of the LNd neuronal cluster.
Expression in early third instar larvae is observed in four protocerebral neuropeptide F-positive neurons.
