Description
What does this section display?
This section contains items that were added to this record for each release. It currently only tracks new links between this FlyBase report and other FlyBase data classes (e.g. genes, references, stocks) or controlled vocabulary terms (e.g. GO, anatomy terms).
What does this section not display?
This section does not currently display links that were removed or gene model changes.

Allele Dmau\mariner\Tpch
Reference(s) (Lozovsky et al., 2002)
Molecular data
There are 11 nucleotide differences between Dmau\mariner\Tpch and a functional mariner transposase; 3 changes upstream of the open reading frame, four missense and one silent substitution within the open reading frame, and 3 changes downstream of the open reading frame.

Allele w+mW.hs
Reference(s) (Lozovsky et al., 2002)
Molecular data
A mini-w gene is expressed under the control of an Hsp70 promoter.
w gene expression is under the influence of FLIP recombinase.
Expression of a fragment of w genomic DNA with a 2.2kb deletion of 3' flanking sequences and a reduction in the size of the largest intron to 356bp is driven by a 388bp fragment of an Hsp70 gene.
Construct: A 'mini-white' gene constructed by deletion of the XbaI-HindII fragment from the long 5' intron. Carried by the W6 and W8 series of vectors.

construct_comment: Vector containing an almost complete duplication of M{peach} in tail-to-tail orientation. w+mW.hs is inserted at the junction of the duplicated fragments. The innermost pair of inverted repeats (directly adjacent to the w+mW.hs marker gene) are modified and are not susceptible to excision by Dmau\mariner\T, while the outermost inverted repeats are intact, and can, in principle, be used by Dmau\mariner\T to mobilise the vector.
