Molecular data	Contains genomic sequences encoding the y transcription unit and body enhancer (but not the y wing enhancer) and part of yar. Approximately 1kb of sequence that is normally located between the two genes (and which contains the su(Hw)BR-y-AS-C composite insulator (A1-2) and the A1-2' site containing a cluster of non-consensus su(Hw) protein binding sites) has been replaced with a w[+mW.hs] marker that is flanked by P1\loxP sites. (Soshnev et al., 2008)

Comments
	Contains genomic sequences encoding the y transcription unit and body enhancer (but not the y wing enhancer) and part of yar. Approximately 1kb of sequence that is normally located between the two genes (and which contains the su(Hw)BR-y-AS-C composite insulator (A1-2) and the A1-2' site containing a cluster of non-consensus su(Hw) protein binding sites) has been replaced with a w[+mW.hs] marker that is flanked by P1\loxP sites. Scer\FRT and Scer\SceI.RS sites flank the ends of the genomic sequences. The construct is a donor template for targeted knockout of su(Hw)BR-y-AS-C by ends-out homologous targeting.
