Molecular data
Construct: Consists of two copies of the w exon 3 in opposite orientation to each other and separated by a w intron. The construct is terminated with a Hsp70 terminator. The resulting transcript after intron splicing, is predicted to create a perfect hairpin dsRNA of length 629 bp.
Construct: The GMR promoter drives expression of a tail-to-tail w repeat. The repeat comprises the 629bp third exon of w ligated to the 74bp second intron of w, ligated to another copy of the w third exon in the opposite orientation to the first copy.
