Genetic mapping information

The X:16655360..16655600 release 6 coordinates of the left breakpoint are estimates. Df(1)rif was generated by imprecise excision of P{}rhd1 (FBrf0072704), an insertion in the first exon of r (FBrf0057406). These coordinates are the approximate limits of exon 1.

The X:16783434..16793000 release 6 coordinates of the right breakpoint are estimates. FBrf0072704 mapped the right breakpoint of Df(1)rif within 10 kb of the right end of if and these coordinates correspond to this region.

Comments on Cytology

Deletion of 130kb, including entire if transcription unit. Df(1)rif is complemented by Dp(1;4)80f3c.

Left limit of break 1 from polytene analysis (FBrf0072704) Right limit of break 1 from inclusion of r (FBrf0072704) Limits of break 2 from polytene analysis (FBrf0072704)

Other Comments

Isolated as the only mutant at if in 44,000 chromosomes screened. A single P element remains at the site of the deletion.
