Detailed Description

vgnw in transheterozygosity with Df(2R)Exel8056, vg13A, vgCL1, vgCZ, vgCL2C or vgDJ1R22 leads to wing defects, while vgnw in transheterozygosity with vgR5 does not.

Flies have tiny knobbed wings and halteres, erect postscutellar bristles and defects in the legs.

Slightly resistant to aminopterin.

Tiny knobbed wings and halteres, erect postscutellars; low viability; female usually sterile; occasional wing nicks in vgnp/+; also shortened L2 vein in vgnp/+; small wing buds. RK2.

Heterozygotes with vg83b27 have a less extreme reduction of wings and haltere structures.
