Ptenc494 mutant ddaC neuron clones exhibit dendrite pruning defects at 16 hours after puparium formation. No difference is seen in white prepupae.

Eggs derived from females carrying homozygous germline clones are generally smaller than wild type.

Embryos laid by mothers carrying Ptenc494 germ-line clones have expanded tracheal primordia (placodes) at stage 11. The thoracic tracheal primordia and abdominal primordia 1 and 2 are most affected. Ectopic tracheal placodes are also sometimes present.

Lethality acts at the late embryonic/early first larval instar phase. Clones induced in the eye have ommatidia that are larger than their wild type neighbors. Photoreceptor cell composition and orientation are normal. Individual mutant cells are larger than wild type. The mutant phenotype is cell autonomous. No overproliferation defect occurs.

Wings from pydex147/pydtam flies are broader compared to control wings, and this phenotype is not modified in a Ptenc494/+ background.

Ptendj189/Ptenc494 ; Pk61C4/Pk61C5 animals can survive to adulthood, although the abdomen is unproportionally reduced in size and leg structures are deformed.
