Mutants have disturbed centriole disjunction, resulting in multi-tail spermatids and three-pole spindles during male meiosis.

Mutant males show defects in meiosis. Chromosome bridges, delayed anaphase chromosomes, chromosome nondisjunction and polyploid spermatids at the bulb stage are seen. Spermatids with more than one tail are seen.

Mutants show defects in mitosis including formation of chromatin bridges, chromosome nondisjunction in anaphase and slightly delayed telophase.
