ykiB5 wing discs clones occupy a severely smaller disc area than control clones.

ykiB5 heterozygotes do not show obvious defects in larval or blood-brain barrier, larval subperineurial glial cell ploidy or nucleus size, or larval brain volume, as compared to controls.

ykiB5 homozygous mutant embryos do not display any significant increase in the frequency of hemisegments with abnormal number of neurons in the asymmetrically dividing RP2 neural lineage.

ykiB5 homozygous mutants - rescued with heat-shock induced expression of ykihs.PW every 2 days until adulthood as otherwise larval lethal - display tumorous female germaria.

ykiB5 mutant eye disc clones grow poorly, comprising only 1.4% of the tissue.

ykiB5 mutant clones are hard to recover in stage 7 egg chambers, and cannot be recovered beyond stage 7.

ykiB5 mutant wing disc clones cannot be recovered.

Homozygous clones in the eye disc are very small.

Wing disc clones mutant for ykiB5 are very small in size. Adjacent wild-type clones grow significantly more than control sibling clones.

ykiB5 mutant MARCM clones are comparable to wild-type cell clones.

Homozygous clones are rarely recovered in the wing disc and are small.

ykiB5 mutant eye disc clones grow poorly compared to controls.

Homozygous clones in the eye disc are smaller than their wild-type twin spots. Homozygous clones are rarely recovered in third larval instar wing discs.

Eye and wing imaginal discs heterozygous for ykiB5 are normal in size and morphology and are indistinguishable from wild-type discs.

ykiB5 mutant clones in the anterior of the wing disc grow poorly and are very small.

ykiB5/+ fails to suppress the reduced growth seen in posterior midgut wild type clones when in the presence of ApcQ8/ApcQ8, Apc2g10/Apc2g10 mutant clones, and suppresses the growth of ApcQ8/ApcQ8, Apc2g10/Apc2g10 mutant clones.

ykiB5 heterozygosity suppresses the tumor phenotype of scrib1 homozygous third instar larval wing discs.

The proportion of hemisegments with abnormal number of neurons in the asymmetrically dividing RP2 neural lineage is significantly increased in cno2/+;ykiB5/+ double heterozygous embryos compared to either of the single heterozygotes or wild type.

The high frequency of hemisegments with abnormal number of neurons in the asymmetrically dividing RP2 neural lineage characteristic for matse03077 homozygous mutant embryos is increased further by combination with ykiB5 in homozygous state.

The rough eye phenotype observed in adults expressing MagiScer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU is not modified by combination with single copy of ykiB5.

ykiB5 suppresses the increase in intestinal stem cell clone size seen when TaoGD8262 is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4Act.PU.

ykiB5 suppresses the increase in intestinal stem cell clone size seen when TaodsRNA.shRNA.Scer\UAS is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4Act.PU.

Expression of Ncoa6::sdDB.Scer\UAS.T:Zzzz\FLAG under the control of Scer\GAL4tub.PU partially suppresses the growth defect seen in ykiB5 mutant wing disc clones.

Expression of Ncoa6Scer\UAS.cQa under the control of Scer\GAL4tub.PU does not suppress the growth defect seen in ykiB5 mutant wing disc clones.

ykiB5 suppresses the neoplastic transformation seen in slmbUU11 mutant wing discs.

sd12 suppresses the reduction in clone growth seen in ykiB5 mutant eye discs. The clones comprise ~15% of the eye disc.

sddel suppresses the reduction in clone growth seen in ykiB5 mutant eye discs.

TgiΔP partially suppresses the reduction in clone growth seen in ykiB5 mutant eye discs. The clones comprise ~7% of the eye disc.

ykiB5/+ suppresses the wing disc overgrowth caused by expression of ptcJF03223 in clones in the wing disc.

ykiB5/+ does not suppress the reduced eye size caused by WGMR.PG.

One copy of ykiB5 suppresses the eye and head overgrowth phenotype seen in mopsfv11 Df(3L)H99 mutant clones (generated in a minute background).

ykiB5/+ wings subjected to increased levels of cell death (by expression of debclScer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4en-e16E) display a lower regenerative capacity than control wings.

ykiB5/+ partially suppresses the retinal neurodegeneration seen in ft8 clones.

A ykiB5 mutant background suppresses the overgrowth seen when tkvQ253D.Scer\UAS.cNc is expressed in wing disc clones under the control of Scer\GAL4Scer\FRT.Act5C. As in ykiB5 mutants alone, very few clones are recoverable.

The enlarged eye phenotype seen in mosaic animals in which the eye is homozygous for gfr1 is suppressed by ykiB5/+.

The small size of homozygous ykiB5 clones in the eye is rescued by expression of banA.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4mirr-DE in the dorsal part of the eye.

Expression of thV85M.Scer\UAS in wing disc clones (under the control of Scer\GAL4tub.PU) in ykiB5 mutant animals increases clone size compared to ykiB5 alone. Co-expression of dmScer\UAS.cZa in this background fails to rescue the growth defect of ykiB5 mutant clones, and growth rates are similar to when thV85M.Scer\UAS is expressed alone in ykiB5 mutant discs.

Expression of banEP3622 in wing disc clones (under the control of Scer\GAL4tub.PU) in ykiB5 mutant animals increases clone size compared to ykiB5 alone. Co-expression of dmScer\UAS.cZa in this background fails to rescue the growth defect of ykiB5 mutant clones, and growth rates are similar to when banEP3622 is expressed alone in ykiB5 mutant discs. However, despite the small size of the clones, cell and nucleolar size are increased when dmScer\UAS.cZa and banEP3622 are expressed in ykiB5 wing discs.

Expression of dmScer\UAS.cZa in ykiB5 wing disc clones (under the control of Scer\GAL4tub.PU) fails to rescue the growth defect of ykiB5 mutant clones. However, despite the small size of the clones, cell and nucleolar size are increased when dmScer\UAS.cZa is expressed in ykiB5 wing discs.

The reduction in eye size caused by expression of sdScer\UAS.cSa under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF is significantly enhanced by ykiB5/+.

ykiB5/+ enhances the notched wing phenotype of sdETX4/Y males.

Homozygous ykiB5 clones which are also expressing vgScer\UAS.cKa under the control of Scer\GAL4tub.PU are readily recovered in the wing blade.

ft8/ft422 mutants, heterozygous for ykiB5 exhibit a size and morphology similar to those of wild-type discs, indicating suppression of the ft8/ft422 phenotype through ykiB5.

ft8/ft422 mutants, heterozygous for ykiB5 progress to the late pupal stage of development, with some surviving to adulthood. ft8 ykiB5/ft422 flies display defects in the size and morphology of eyes, wings, and some bristles.

ykiB5 mutant clones in the posterior of the wing disc that express banEP3622 under the control of Scer\GAL4hh-Gal4, grow to larger sizes than ykiB5 clones in the anterior of the disc. These clones are not as large as the wild-type twin spots.

The growth-promoting effects of ft8 clones induced in the eye is strongly suppressed by one copy of ykiB5.

Nearly all ft8 ykiB5/ftG-rv mutant animals develop into adults, although they do not hatch from the pupal case as they have some leg defects and head overgrowths. In contrast, all ft8/ftG-rv mutant animals die during the early stages of pupal development and show severely overgrown imaginal disc derivatives. This indicates that ykiB5 suppresses the overgrowth phenotypes of ft8/ftG-rv mutant imaginal discs.
