Unlike controls, expression of InRCA.UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4Orco.PU leads to a significant reduction in attraction to the pentyl acetate in starved larvae when compared to non-starved larvae; and more dramatically under the control of Scer\GAL4Or47a.PU it leads to the repulsion of both starved and non-starved larvae by pentyl acetate.

Expression of InRCA.UAS.cUa does not alter the levels of food intake (under the control of Scer\GAL4Orco.PU or Scer\GAL4Or47a.PU) although it leads to a significant increase in body weight (under the control of Scer\GAL4Orco.PU) relative to control larvae.

Expression of InRCA.UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4Gr28b.b.4.7 in adults does not affect food intake of starved or satiated flies, compared to controls.

Expression of InRCA.Scer\UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PU (in combination with a Gal80[ts] transgene to restrict expression to the adult stage) results in reduced sensitivity to ethanol-induced sedation, and no change in overall locomotor activity, as compared to controls.

Expression of InRCA.Scer\UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4RhoGAP18B-NP1514 results in reduced sensitivity to ethanol-induced sedation, as compared to controls.
