Description

Succinate dehydrogenases catalyze the oxidation of succinate to fumarate in the tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle. The reaction is performed by the Sdh1 (SDHA) subunit of the heterotetrameric succinate dehydrogenase complex, which is tethered to the inner mitochondrial membrane and also functions as Complex II within the electron transport chain. Notes on Group

SdhA and SdhAL are paralogous genes in D. melanogaster - SdhA has widespread expression, whereas SdhAL is expressed specifically in the testis.
