For each fully sequenced cDNA the DGRC maintains various forms of the cDNA (e.g tagged or untagged) in several different host vectors for subsequent cloning and expression in Drosophila and Drosophila cell lines.
Lethal alleles have been identified. Clones of these lethal alleles in the developing eye show no alteration in the number or morphology of the photoreceptor cells.
E(sev)3D is not required for photoreceptor development.
