DAAM is expressed pan-neurally in embryos from stage 11.
DAAM-protein shows strong expression in the neuropil region of the adult brain. Distinct labeling is observed in the developing and mature mushroom body. In young adults strong labeling in this neuropil region is only observed in the central region of the developing lobes and pedunculus indicating an enrichment in newly projecting axons.
DAAM protein accumulates in the M band of the IFM from 48 hours APF. In newly eclosed adults, DAAM protein accumulation is weak at the Z disc and prominent at the M band. In four day old adults, DAAM immunoreactivity is equally strong at the M band and the Z disc; DAAM protein also accumulates in the sarcoplasm. At the beginning of the third larval instar (72 hours AEL), DAAM immunoreactivity resolves into two bands along the the M band, while in wandering third instar larvae, some DAAM protein has relocated to a region flanking the Z disc.
DAAM is expressed pan-neurally in embryos from stage 12.

Please Note FlyBase no longer curates genomic clone accessions so this list may not be complete
Please Note This section lists cDNAs and ESTs that fall within the genomic extent of the gene model, which may include cDNAs and ESTs of genes within introns, or of overlapping genes. Please see GBrowse for alignment of the cDNAs and ESTs to the gene model.
For each fully sequenced cDNA the DGRC maintains various forms of the cDNA (e.g tagged or untagged) in several different host vectors for subsequent cloning and expression in Drosophila and Drosophila cell lines.
