Cul5 protein is detected in the embryonic central nervous system and larval ventral nerve cord. In embryos, it is also detected at the fusion sites on the dorsal trunk. In third instar larva, it is detected in the photoreceptors of the eye disc, posterior to the morphogenetic furrow, in the third segment of the antenna disc, and in glutamatergic type I boutons at the neuromuscular junction.
