rumi loss of function mutants cause phenotypes similar to loss of N signalling in many contexts. All rumi alleles exhibit a temperature-sensitive phenotype during the asymmetric divisions of the microchaetae precursors, uncovering a novel temperature-sensitive step during this process.
Gene is named "rumi" after a 13th century poet.
