mecA, dGirdin
scaffolding protein - regulates cell polarity - supports the activity of Yrt and Lgl by restricting the activity of aPKC - essential for sensory dendrite formation - regulates the formation of actin structures that may temporarily stabilize the dendritic tip and is essential for its connection to the dendritic sheath - a positive regulator of adherens junction function - stabilizes epithelial cell adhesion and promotes morphogenesis by regulating the linkage of the cadherin-catenin complex to the actin cytoskeleton - involved in Akt pathway control of cell size

AlphaFold produces a per-residue confidence score (pLDDT) between 0 and 100. Some regions with low pLDDT may be unstructured in isolation.
Alternative translation stop created by use of multiphasic reading frames within coding region.
Low-frequency RNA-Seq exon junction(s) not annotated.
Annotated transcripts do not represent all possible combinations of alternative exons and/or alternative promoters.

The testis specificity index was calculated from modENCODE tissue expression data by Vedelek et al., 2018 to indicate the degree of testis enrichment compared to other tissues. Scores range from -2.52 (underrepresented) to 5.2 (very high testis bias).
Girdin protein is widely distributed in all stages of embryogenesis. It is enriched at the ZA in epithelial cells and ectodermal cells. It shows a strong accumulation at the ventral midline and is present in the midgut and in the CNS.
Isoform-specific expression patterns are observed.

Please Note This section lists cDNAs and ESTs that fall within the genomic extent of the gene model, which may include cDNAs and ESTs of genes within introns, or of overlapping genes. Please see JBrowse for alignment of the cDNAs and ESTs to the gene model.
For each fully sequenced cDNA the DGRC maintains various forms of the cDNA (e.g tagged or untagged) in several different host vectors for subsequent cloning and expression in Drosophila and Drosophila cell lines.
