The BDGP uses high throughput RNA in situ hybridization in 96-well plates (FBrf0207749) to determine the patterns of gene expression during embryogenesis. Probes are generated using the Drosophila melanogaster DGC cDNA/EST collection (FBrf0155824). Images are collected and gene expression patterns are annotated using a controlled vocabulary developed with the help of Volker Hartenstein. Images and anatomy annotation data can be browsed, searched or downloaded in bulk.
