A set of transgenic insertion stocks derived by TE mobilization using the P-element construct P{GawB}. The P{GawB} construct carries a w+mW.hs mini-white visible marker and Scer\GAL4 driver/enhancer trap sequences. The GAL4-UAS system is a binary system using Scer\GAL4, a yeast transcription activator protein gene, and Scer\UAS, the DNA binding site for the GAL4 protein. The P{GawB} construct acts as an enhancer trap: expression of the GAL4 is sensitive to enhancers in the genomic region of an insertion. When paired with a construct or insertion carrying a reporter gene downstream of Scer\UAS, the reporter gene is driven by and reflects the expression of the GAL4.
Drives adult expression in around 40 type B local interneurons, including a subset of GABAergic local interneurons of the adult antennal lobe. Drives larval expression in a subset of GABAergic local interneuron of the larval antennal lobe.
ScerGAL4Sxl-NP2426 drives expression in around 40 type B local interneurons. Their cell bodies cluster in the dorso-lateral region of the antennal lobe and project to all antennal lobe glomeruli and the antennal lobe hub. An additional three interneurons with ventrally located cell bodies are labeled. These project to antennal lobe glomeruli VA5, VA4, VL2a, VM1, VM6, VP1, VP2 and VP3.
ScerGAL4Sxl-NP2426 drives expression in six to eight neurons that innervate the larval antennal lobe (AL) and the subesophageal ganglion. Innervation pattern becomes increasingly dense during larval development. The cell bodies of two to three labeled neurons are located in a cluster ventrolateral to the AL. The other four to five cell bodies are located dorsolateral to the AL.
ScerGAL4NP2426 is expressed in 37 local neurons of the antennal lobe.
The approximately 40 somata of cells expressing ScerGAL4NP2426 are predominantly found in a lateral cell body cluster of the antennal lobe, with a few located in a ventral cell body cluster.
