Definition A blood coagulation disease characterized by development of a defect in clotting in the absence of previous bleeding symptoms, negative familial history, and occurrence in a relatively older age. Typically this develops secondarily to other disorders, such as lymphoproliferative, myeloproliferative, cardiovascular and autoimmune disorders.
