| Definition |
Contiguous region of early embryonic cells of the ectoderm anlage that forms a single-cell border between the anlagen of the mesoderm and ventral ectoderm (Campos-Ortega and Hartenstein, 1997; Stathopoulos and Newcomb, 2020).
