ID (Ontology) |
FBbt:00001245 (Fly Anatomy) |
| Definition |
Glial cell of the embryo that arises at the dorsoposterior edge of the protocerebrum (Hartenstein et al., 1998). At early stage 12 there are 2-3 cells, and this number increases to 5-6 (Hartenstein et al., 1998). Until stage 15, cells of this cluster stay together in a wedge-shaped formation, but later spread out to cover the dorso-posterior surface of the supraesophageal ganglion (Hartenstein et al., 1998). Most of these cells become larval surface glia, but some may become cell body glia (Hartenstein et al., 1998; Hartenstein et al., 2011).[ FlyBase:FBrf0105240 FlyBase:FBrf0214261 ] |
