General Information
Term EG neuron ID (Ontology) FBbt:00001579 (Fly Anatomy)
Definition Interneuron that is part of a cluster of 10-12 eagle (FBgn0000560) expressing neurons deriving from multiple neuroblasts. Axons extend across the midline via the anterior commissure.[ FlyBase:FBrf0086454 FlyBase:FBrf0200520 ]
Comment Higashijima et al. (1996) point out that some, if not all, of the EL neurons belong to the EG neurons, as based on enhancer trap and immunolabelling studies.
