| Term |
pupal pharyngeal tracheal branch |
ID (Ontology) |
FBbt:00002968 (Fly Anatomy) |
| Definition |
A pupal specific tracheal branch that arises from the cerebropharyngeal branch, lateral to the cerebral anastomosis and posterior to the cerebral branch. It tracheates the pharynx and cephalothorax.[ FlyBase:FBrf0011558 FlyBase:FBrf0034081 FlyBase:FBrf0064787 ] |
| Also Known As |
"dorsal cervical posterior pupal trachea" |
| Comment |
Figure 23 of Manning and Krasnow (1993) establishes a correspondence between their nomenclature and the one used by Whitten (1957) - FBrf0011558 in figure 2. To note, however, that the larval pharyngeal branch (FBbt:00000394) corresponds to the dorsal cervical anterior branch (as in table 1 of Manning and Krasnow (1993)), not to the posterior one. |
