Term pupal abdominal tracheal branch ID (Ontology) FBbt:00002981 (Fly Anatomy)
Definition Specialized trachea of the pupa that branches from tracheal metameres 4 and 5 (A2 & A3 respectively) and projects posteriorly. It develops from tracheoblasts of the 4th and 5th spiracular branches, near the junctions with the transverse connectives, forming 3 - 5 major branches and many fine terminals branches.
