Definition Muscle cell of the circular muscle of the adult esophagus. There is a single layer of circular muscles forming bands 4-6um wide and 3um thick. The fiber muscles at the anterior end of the esophagus, near the cibarium, are 6-7.5um thick.[ FlyBase:FBrf0007735 ]
