| Definition |
Adult serotonergic extrinsic ring neuron that follows the longitudinal superior medial fascicle and innervates the superior medial and intermediate protocerebrum, the crepine, the lateral accessory lobe and a dorsal layer of the fan-shaped body, with mixed terminals (Omoto et al., 2018; Hulse et al., 2021). It has mainly presynaptic terminals in both (bilateral) bulbs and the inner central domain of the ellipsoid body (Omoto et al., 2018; Hulse et al., 2021). There is one of these cells per hemisphere and it develops from neuroblast DM6 (Kandimalla et al., 2023).[ FlyBase:FBrf0240929 FlyBase:FBrf0254510 FlyBase:FBrf0257023 ] |
