| Definition | Larval feedforward interneuron a that does not connect back to mechanosensory chordotonal neurons. The cell body is at the lateral edge of the ventral nerve cord, and the neuron projects medially, crossing the midline. One set of branching occurs prior to this crossing, with arborization occurring in an anterior direction. Another set of branching occurs at a similar location on the opposite side of the midline, with arborization in anterior and posterior directions. This neuron is GABAergic (Jovanic et al., 2016).
