| Definition |
Descending neuron belonging to the DNp group, having a cell body posterior to the posterior to the posterior lateral protocerebrum (Matsuo et al., 2016; Namiki et al., 2018). The primary neurite extends anteriomedially, turns ventrally at the medial side of the PLP and branches, to form postsynaptic terminals in the ipsilateral antennal mechanosensory and motor center (AMMC) zones A and B, wedge, anterior ventrolateral protocerebrum (AVLP), the LC4 glomerulus of the posterior ventrolateral protocerebrum (PVLP), inferior clamp and gorget (Matsuo et al., 2016). A branch extends posterioventrally to form presynaptic terminals in the saddle and posterior gnathal ganglion (Matsuo et al., 2016). It does not cross the midline and descends on the ipsilateral side of the cervical connective, then fasciculates with the dorsal lateral tract of the ventral cervical fascicle (Namiki et al., 2018).
