| Definition |
Motor neuron that innervates the muscle of first axillary 56 (I2), ipsilaterally (Ehrhardt et al., 2023). Its soma is found in the ventral mesothoracic neuromere (Ehrhardt et al., 2023). It has dense arbors in the ipsilateral anterior dorsal mesothoracic neuromere, including the wing neuropil, with some fibers extending slightly into the contralateral hemisphere (O'Sullivan et al., 2018; Ehrhardt et al., 2023). In the male, it plays a role in courtship song generation (O'Sullivan et al., 2018).[ FlyBase:FBrf0240039 ] |
