Short taste bristle of tarsal segment 5 of the prothoracic leg. It is located proximal to bristle 5v on the ventral tarsal segment 5. One is found on the medial side of the leg and one on the lateral side. It responds to the widest array of tastants of any prothoracic leg taste bristle present in the female, including sugars, bitter compounds and amino acids.[ FlyBase:FBrf0225125 ] |
